RAE in English - November 13, 2020
This week, we go over a playlist of Argentine songs which are in English. These are not covers, but tunes originally written in Argentina or by Argentines that, for various reasons, are not in Spanish but in English.

Photo: Luca Prodan, the late lead singer of Argentine rock band Sumo. He was born in Italy and was raised in a Soottish boarding school. He began his music career in London, influenced by ska, reggae and punk. In the early 1980s he accepted a former schoolmate's invitation to move to Argentina and start a new life, away from drugs. Already in South America he picked up music again and formed a band whose first songs were written in a language Luca was more familiar with: English. Later on, he'd start singing in Spanish too, albeit with a strong Italian accent, which would become one of distinctive features of Sumo's sound.
