GUADALAJARA: THE LARGEST INTERNATIONAL BOOK FAIR IN SPANISH LANGUAGE

The 33rd edition of the Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL), considered the largest in Spanish-language literature, opened on Saturday with a ceremony in which the Mexican poet and essayist David Huerta was awarded for his literary career. Huerta is the author of books such as "Cuaderno de noviembre" (1976), "Versión" (1978) and "Incurable" (1987), who underscored the fact that he is the first Mexican poet to receive this award. In addition, from Huerta, IDF 2019 recognized Argentina's María Gainza with the Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz Award, dedicated to literature written by women. The Fair will run until December 8 in Guadalajara, the capital of the western Mexican state of Jalisco.
