WEEK 12 RAE ARGENTINA TO THE WORLD

New Argentina sounds

Vozenoff

"Mil flores" (Thousand flowers)

Vozenoff is a melodic rock band from the city of Ushuaia, the capital of the southern Tierra del Fuego. They have a single album called "La oportunidad" released in 2019 which earned them a nomination at the Gardel Awards 2020 as Best Pop Group. Like so many other bands in the world, they are waiting for the end of the pandemic while they keep on releasing singles. "Mil Flores" is their most recent song. It carries a much-needed hopeful message in these difficult times.

Anahi Arias

"Negra"

Anahí Arias is an eclectic songwriter who mixes Argentine and South American folklore with electronic music creating a mestizo genre that she has showcased in Europe at important music festivals. Anahí's very personal sound features a charango or ronroco she plays while she sings. "Negra" is the preview of her still-unnamed fourth album, that refers to the legend of the ceibo flower.

El Dependiente

"Siempre supe desviarme" (I always knew how to deviate)

His stage name is inspired by the classic film by Leonardo Favio, but his real name is Marcelo Zeoli. He has been leading a very interesting solo career for 10 years. Two full albums "Mensaje nuevo" ( 2012 ) and "Desposeído" ( 2020 ) show a search for a free, personal and undefined sound. Released by the Mexican label Panoram this song presents his more spatial and confessional side, continuing the aesthetic line drawn by composer Daniel Melero back in the '80s with his band Los Encargados.
