Macri administration accused of arming Bolivia de facto government in 2019

The Federal Government has filed a lawsuit before a Court regarding the shipment of ammunition to Bolivia, while repercussions following revelations that during his administration, former President Mauricio Macri allegedly collaborated with weapons to repress social protests after the coup d'état in that country.

"We are working on a lawsuit jointly with different State agencies because treaties and conventions were violated also", assured Minister of Justice Martín Soria.".

Last Friday, the Bolivian government released a letter in which it gave details of a shipment of war materiel and anti-riot gear following the coup d'état of November 2019 that toppled Evo Morales, who was replaced by the facto president Jeanine Añez.

The issue was addressed on Sunday night between the presidents of Argentina, Alberto Fernández, and Bolivia, Luis Arce, in a videoconference that was broadcast by TV Pública, in which Fernández again stated that "Argentina of those days did not behave well with the Bolivians".
