Luis Caputo to be Milei's Economy Minister

President-elect Javier Milei finally cleared doubts about who will head one of the most important positions of his administration: that of Minister of Economy.

It will be Luis Caputo, who was first president of the Central Bank and then Minister of Finance during the presidency of Mauricio Macri, between 2015 and 2019.

His name had already been mentioned, but the official confirmation finally came this Wednesday.

Caputo traveled this week with Milei to the US, where they met with officials from the US government and the International Monetary Fund.

In connection with this trip, the President-elect met yesterday in Washington with Jake Sullivan, President Joe Biden's National Security Advisor.

Upon his return to Buenos Aires this morning, Milei revealed that he received a favorable response to the economic program he showcased in the U.S. capital.

The libertarian economist will take office as President of Argentina on Sunday, December 10.
