RAE ARGENTINA TO THE WORLD

Radio is here to stay

Gustavo López, deputy chairman of the ENACOM media watchdog, spoke with Whatsapp Group about the vast world of communications, and its central importance amid times like these.

López is a lawyer and, among other duties, he was Secretary-General of the University of Buenos Aires. He then served as comptroller for the Federal Broadcasting Committee (COMFER) from 1999 to 2001.
Talking to the director of RAE-Argentina al Mundo, Adrián Korol, López stressed the importance of radio even in the face of the advance of new technologies that were prophesized to bring upon  the end of traditional media.

//// Radio has an aura of mystery that other media outlets do not have. It's like reading a book but through a voice. (For example) I remember, as a SW listener, that I was trying to reach other parts of the world, to listen to other stations and learn about what what was going on there. And that was wonderful.
