Federal Interview RAE ARGENTINA TO THE WORLD

Pedro Aznar, a poet of Argentine music

RAE - Argentina al Mundo brings you a translated fragment of the latest edition of "Federal Interview", with a figure everybody had been waiting for: musician and composer Pedro Aznar.

The Federal Interview has journalists from the Radio Nacional network's 49 radio stations all over the country interviewing -via teleconference- a public figure, this week an  outstanding personality of the Argentine music scene.

Aznar marked his 61st birthday amid the pandemic with a streaming show, joined by musician friends playing from their homes.

He was a member of legendary supergroup Serú Girán between 1978 and 1982 along with Charly García, David Lebón and Oscar Moro.

He then worked with American guitarist Pat Metheny and has been devoted to his solo career for more than 25 years.

He has released more than 30 albums including studio records, live recordings, film soundtracks and duets with musicians.

In addition to 200 published compositions of his own, in his solo career he has dedicated special care to record around 120 covers and arrangements of songs by Latin American, North American and British musicians.

At the height of his fame with group Serú Girán, he left everything to study at the Berklee School of Music (USA). Aznar's work is vast, and apart from a musician, he's a photographer, a poet and a sommelier.
