Playing doubles together with Italian Flavia Pennetta, both tennis players conquered the Australia Open for the “double female” category: Gisella Dulko won her first Grand Slam Playing doubles together with Italian Flavia Pennetta, both tennis players conquered the Australia Open for the “double female” category: They defeated Belorussian Victoria Azarenka (44) and Russian María Kirilenko (14), 2-6, 7-5, 6-1. The match took 2 h 10 minutes, in a sunny afternoon in Melbourne. So far, Dulko & Pennetta had conquered ten titles (seven of them last year) and it was the first time they have reached a Grand Slam. Their previous best had been Wimbledon semifinal in June 2010 when they were defeated by Russians Vera Zvonareva and Elena Vesnina.
