Argentina officially accepted UN mediation on the Malvinas conflict with the UK
The “initiatives and suggestions” were made by the General Assembly President at the UN to contribute to the solution of the Malvinas conflict.
The initiative was made known through a letter sent by Foreign Affairs Héctor Timmerman to UN General Assembly president, Nassir Abdulaziz Al–Nasser.
In the letter, the Minister informed that “the Argentine Republic has officially accepted Nassir Abdulaziz Al–Nasser’s good disposition to coordinate a pacific solution between our country and the UK over the Malvinas conflict”.
