ARGENTINA TRANSFERS THE PRESIDENCY OF THE G77 PLUS CHINA

Ambassador Jorge Argüello transferred the Group presidency to the Algerian Foreign Minister, Mourad Medelci.

Argüello spoke before UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon and the president of the Economic and Social Council, Milos Koterec in NYC

He said the system that includes the UN,  Bretton Woods and the World Trade organization must put into practice in the economic and social fields, the commitments achieved at the Summits and Conferences.

Moreover, on behalf of the Argentine government, the diplomat thanked the G 77 member countries and China for their support of the Malvinas question

Argentina’s achievements during the presidency can be said to be: the budget negotiation, the peace operations financing, and an essential role in debates over a new international financing architecture.
