Energy Consumption Record

 

The Federal Planning Minister confirmed that last week-end exceeded the energy record by reaching 396,4 Gwh last Saturday, February 4th.

 

On the next day, there was a new energy record with 363,5 G Wh. The previous mark had been 363,4 GW registered last July 3rd, 2011.

 

It was reported that “the term “energy” refers to the amount of electricity consumed during a day or week, while “power” refers to the demand of electricity at a certain time.

The SUBE card can be obtained through Internet.

 

Transport Secretary, Juan Pablo Schiavi, announced the website address to request the SUBE card, the only means of transport payment as from next February 10th, that will allow  preferential fares.

 

Once requested and approved , the card will be sent to the address mentioned in the form.

 

The website is  www.transporte.gob.ar, and users can fill in a form and receive the card by regular mail.

Teamsters' blockades are sheer madness.

 

Oscar Lescano, head of the  “Luz y Fuerza” Union, (electricity utility workers) criticized the measure of protest carried out by the teamster workers in front of the Mail premises.

 

He voiced he fully disagreed on the protest carried out by teamster union leader Pablo Moyano against the firing of some workers in the province of Chubut, in front of the Mail premises

"The challenge is that Dengue does not enter the country", said Health Minister Manzur.

During  a work breakfast he shared with  Vice-President Amado Boudou, in the city of Puerto Iguazú, where he is heading the inauguration of a "Day of Intensified Actions for the Dengue Prevention and Control, the Nation Health Minister, Juan Manzur, asserted that "the great challenge" of Argentina in relation to the Dengue Fever is that "the virus does not enter the country" and stood out the importance of the prevention campaign and control of that illness.

 

In this regard, he pointed out that "at the moment there is not viral circulation in Argentina" but stressed that, in view of the growing number of cases registered in the region, mainly in Paraguay and Brazil, the country is under "alert state."

90% of road accidents are caused by human failure

 

Interior Minister, Florencio Randazzo, held that accidents are caused by excess of speed and alcohol, the lack of helmets and safety belts.

 

The Minister urged people to abide by the safety rules to prevent more deaths

 

Randazzo also said the government is doing its best efforts to help in the case by training people, arousing awareness, enforcing new controls and imposing sanctions.

 

The Minister reiterated that road safety is now controlled by the National Road Safety Agcy that carries out tasks of prevention and control

Amado Boudou highlighted the President’s recovery

 

 

Acting president Amado Boudu held that the President’s recovery is very positive.

 

Boudou highlighted that the change of the President’s disease diagnosis made everybody happy.

 

The drought impact will be evidenced in 10 days, said INTA’s head

 

Carlos Casamiquela, president at the National Agrofarm Technology Institute (INTA) expressed his relief over the arrival of the rain in the drought affected areas.

 

Rain fell in central Santa Fe, a large part of the province of Entre Rios, and the Eastern side of the province of Buenos Aires”, said the source.

 

Rains were also registered in the provinces of Río Negro, La Pampa and  Córdoba, relieving the pressure caused by the drought on the fields.

 

Casamiquela said unfortunately there are some fields beyond any possibility of recovery.

Historical record of Organ donation

 

In 2011, Argentina registered a record of 15.1 donors every million people. The figure placed our country on top of the list in LA.

Statistics issued by INCUCAI, the National Implant and Ablation Coordinator Institute, stated that there were 604 real donors that allowed 1.376 people be transplanted in 2011.

Moreover, the entity added that several provinces exceeded these figure such as: Tucumán, San Juan y Misiones.

Health Minister, Juan Manzur, held that the more transplants and real donors grow, the larger our commitment with the subject since our challenge is to reduce the transplant waiting list of those people who need an organ to improve their life style or simply to save their life.

CFK raises ANSeS funding for pension loans

 

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner announced that ANSeS controlled funding would be raised for pensioner loans and that interest tax charged by private loan companies to pensioners would be limited, during a ceremony held at the inauguration of a new social security office in Lomas de Zamora today.

 

“I wanted to announce here at this event, the inauguration of this ANSeS office, that I have come to take responsibility of a problem that currently affects 2 million people. It has to do with the rules on discounts for pensioners, who have to pay user taxes.”

 

According to the head of state, there are 589 agencies entitled to give out loans, including cooperatives, associations and unions.

 

“The taxation rate for loans given by the ANSeS can only be 5% higher than what the National Bank charges for the same loan,” stated the President,

 

“Let’s not commit socialism with everyone else’s money.  We believe in giving loans, not the overcharging and abuse of the system.”

In another section of her speech, the President said that the only struggle you lose is the one you abandon”, and added that “victory is always at hand reach”. She praised the fact that channels and TV signals will be soon inaugurated in the provinces and said that a new step is being given toward democracy consolidation, income distribution and justice.

Plurality of Voice, the most valuable aspect

 

The President highlighted the importance of the Mass media law and assigned radio frequencies to  2200 districts all over the country. She also anticipated that over 220 TV channels will also be inaugurated in the short term.

 

Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner stated that the Media Law was a “collective construction” like none other before and recalled that in August 1920 the first radio broadcast had been carried out from the terrace of the Coliseum Theatre.

 

 

She pointed out the law is an example of plurality and democratization and it could be sanctioned despite pressures and conflicts which had to be eventually overcome.

 

"Society kept their spirit alive despite tragedies and failures. Over 1,200 districts throughout the country will now be able to hear Modulated Frequency, said the President and added that the most valuable aspect was the achievement of voice plurality

The President requested Argentine Airlines employees to set to work”

Cristina Fernández headed the ceremony of inauguration of a recovered and refurbished hangar at the Metropolitan Airport Jorge Newbery in the city of Buenos Aires where she expressed her support of the company’s administration plan.

 

She said that the most difficult decision she had made during her administration was to re nationalize Argentine Airlines, on July 21.  2008, when she took over a bankrupt, vacuumed Air Company without planes.

 

She recalled "it was a deserted company. It is pretty difficult, she added, to run a company controlled by six Unions with which decisions must be negotiated. It was a difficult economic time and we made the decision of taking over without blaming anyone. The government undertook the responsibility, together with the workers, to rebuild the company with investments.

 

The head of State went over some figures related to the investment made by the government since 2008. She held that no worker was dismissed, that the payroll grew by 8% instead, and that the company shows 40% more of productivity, that the country owns a “flight simulator” once again and that the investment made in equipment was simply millionaire. She added that “competitiveness can not measure itself against workers’ dignity but it must be supplementary, therefore salaries were increased”.

 

She recalled the “APA workers average salary amounts to 11.5 thousand pesos; APTA (technicians) workers cash an average of 16.7 thousand pesos; UPSA workers (hierarchical staff) 21 thousand; crew  members, some 12.7 thousand; pilots (APLA) 37.8 thousand; UALA workers 38 thousand. The Head of State kept on “I say all this because it hurts to see that a blockade left flights unattended, without the catering service”.

 

And added that days ago, the pilot flying a foreign airline told his passengers that the Argentine government was to blame for the lack of the catering service on board that plane. The situation was due to a conflict affecting the catering company in Ezeiza.

 

"I must congratulate the company’s administration though for the achieved connectivity among our compatriots. The company is still defaulting, as most air companies in the world are, but the deficit dropped by 48% and new flights were incorporated to supply the tourist demand; tourism represents almost 7% of GDP.

 

"I appointed Mariano Recalde. The plan submitted last week was elaborated and analyzed with me in Olivos before the announcement. Let’s not get it wrong. I make the decisions by popular vote, said Cristina Fernandez, who added there were covered boycotts and cancelled flights”.

"Inauguration of a new University”

 

When heading the ceremony of inauguration of the “Airport University” in Ezeiza, also attended by Governor Daniel Scioli, local Mayor, Alejandro Granados an other guest authorities, the President recalled the place had housed  a model nursery school

 

"She said some facilities of the old school could still be seen although the place had later become a Hospital. Today, it is replaced by a University and the next step will be to make the degree official so that it can be valid throughout the country.

 

Cristina Fernández recalled the government investment in the new College amounted to 7 M.

 

She added that the new course of studies and everything related to it was declared of “national interest” and pointed out that registration will start next October 15th. She also said it is important to choose a course of studies with job opportunities and added that all branches of engineering are equally important.

 

She announced there will be new course of studies related to electro mechanic and computer engineering at the Technological University in Pacheco

 

The Head of State assured the investment was not by chance and promised Dulce Granados will be the next Mayor in Ezeiza she will fully support”.

 

The president held that “adjustment policies cause the sinking of economies, therefore added value has to be preserved as well as development and industrialization policies".

“The polls showed the way to follow”, said the president

 

Cristina Fernández headed a ceremony in the district of Lanus where she stated thatit is people’s support that helps the government to continue making efforts.

 

The President thanked once again the support of the people of Lanus at the polls last Sunday

 

During the ceremony of inauguration of a Health Unit in the southern district, the president was accompanied by the Governor of Buenos Aires, Daniel Scioli , the Health Minister Juan Manzur and the district Mayor Dario Díaz Pérez, among other authorities.

 

The Head of State referred to the achievements made in the health field such as the vaccines against the pneumococcus that affects women whose production was fostered during her administration.

 

She said the country is recuperating the time lost and that she felt very proud about reaching an industrialization process. At present, the country counts on 280 industrial parks.

 

Cristina Fernández requested the city government chief, Mauricio Macri, to collaborate in cleaning the river and thus match the efforts made by the province and municipalities.

 

She also summoned those private people who can contribute with the cause.

 

Finally she thanked the physicians and nurses who will work at the recently inaugurated Health Unit and the people who had gathered for the ceremony.

School Period Extension


School Period Extension

The Education Minister,  Alberto Sileoni, announced that next school period will have an extension of 190 days, i.e. ten days more than the 180 regular period established by law.

The measure was fostered by the Executive and accompanied by 24 jurisdictions in the country and aims at “improving education”.

Alberto Sileoni, the Education Minister, declared to the press that the objective to be pursued in the following years will be to reach from 195 to 200 school days/year.

Sileoni made the announcement when he presented the new school calendar before the Education Council.

Next year, lessons will start as of Feb 27th and will end by mid December .

Reinauguration of Radio Nacional Cordoba

 

During her visit to the province of Cordoba, the President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner headed the ceremony of inauguration of the new “Auditórium” at the broadcasting station baptized as “Cultural Center Néstor Carlos Kirchner”.

 

The inauguration ceremony of the refurbished building was headed through a videoconference by the President who traveled to the province to inaugurate the new “Prince of Asturias Hospital”.

 

During her speech, she extolled the value of the broadcasting station and said that the refurbishing works “recuperated plurality and public space for all the voices, a road open by the “audiovisual Communication Law.

 

Other authorities present were Tristán Bauer, Alberto Cantero, from Radio y Televisión Argentina and María Seoane from Radio Nacional together with María Eugenia Cisneros, from Radio Nacional Cordoba.

 

Singer León Gieco closed the ceremony with a concert, in the presence of well known radio hosts and journalists such as Héctor Larrea, and Carlos Ulanosvky, Alejandro Apo, Julia Mengolini and Cinthia Otaviano.

 

The new auditorium in the premises of Radio Nacional Córdoba is part of the Post Office building. It sits 412 people and offers excellent acoustic conditions.

 

Other refurbishing works accompanied the inauguration and included recording studios which were equipped with state of the art technology, a new AM 50KW-transmitter which expands the one in use, and the replacement of equipment for FM broadcasting to cover the whole city.

 

Four additional Conference rooms were also revamped to house theatre plays, rehearsals, workshops and cultural activities of the sort, each of them to sit 80 people. The first floor foyer will also be offered for art exhibits.

The Bs As Governor delivered his speech during the launching of Atucha II Power Plant, whose ceremony was headed by President Cristina Fernandez  and highlighted “we are facing a country Project”.

 

Scioli accompanied the President during the inauguration ceremony held in the locality of Lima.

 

“He added he believes the Province gets stronger with investments like Atucha’s that represent the effort of the government.

 

 

Electric consumption growth

Energy use increased by 6% last August compared to the same month in 2010, and registered an increase of 5.9 % reaching a new record of 21.564 megawatts, stated the Foundation for Electric Development, FUNDELEC, in a survey that stated that with an average temperature lower than any historical record, the increase was fostered by a larger evolution in the capital city and Great Bs As.

 

"The monthly register of energy consumption was the second highest in history, therefore, from  2011, the accumulated hike amounts to 5.6% compared to the same period in 2010, indicated the entity.

“Almost half the Argentine population have already gained access to Internet”, said the President.

 

Yesterday, in government house, President Cristina Fernández launched the website INFOJUS, on Legal Information, and said that in 2001 only 30% of the population could work with Internet while today the percentage rose to 47%.

 

The head of State said that the new website is a complement to the previous one known as “Digesto” and that this integral free site will allow people to consult “on-line” about any national or provincial law, legal sentence, or any other resolution.

 

She praised the public aspect of the new system and added that by year-end there will be PC terminals at all Law Schools and Lawyer Associations of the country.

 

She held that this legal system will benefit over half a million people who will use it on a daily basis while the whole society will also be able to have access to it and she recalled that “important leaps” have been given by the government.

 

Finally Cristina Fernández assured that "over 1.200 million netbooks have been already handed over to students and schools”.

 

Therefore, the number of households with access to Internet will be higher than it was, thus taking Argentina to a privileged place.

Labor, Housing and Education define a country’s government


Amado Boudou, candidate for the country’s vice presidency, made this statement during the ceremony in which neighbors of the district of La Matanza received the deeds of their housing units.
Amado Boudou, held that Cristina Fernández’s Project can be defined as : “dignity, labor, housing, education, health, family and land".

He added that Argentina must recover the access to land. He also praised Cristina Fernandez’ administration as the best in the last 50 years and highlighted youths’ militancy.
During the ceremony, he was accompanied by deputy Minister, Roberto Feletti,  candidate to the vice governorship of the province of Buenos Aires, Gabriel Mariotto, the local Mayor, Fernando Espinoza and other figures.
