Antarctica Prize - Travel Diaries

With the aim of promoting environmental awareness, the Malvinas-related affairs secretary, Daniel Filmus together with the Director of the Argentine Office of the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI), Luis Scasso, launched "Antarctica Prize - Travel Diaries", a writing and drawing contest for students in their final years of high schools. Young people from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Spain and Uruguay can take part..

The contest seeks to build bridges between young people and Antarctica, to promote awareness and responsibility for our heritage and environment, and to bring together literary and graphic ideas with projects linked to science, history and social-related issues.

 

 

Projects have to be submitted by October 4. Drawings will be received until November 22. The Jury will be integrated by an expert in children's literature, an specialist in book illustrations, a member of the OEI and a representative of the Malvinas, Antarctica and South Atlantic Bureau.

The winners of the contest will receive a diploma, a tablet, a digital version of the winning productions and will also take part in a remote forum with scientists working at the Carlini Base in Antarctica.
